Blue

“Blue” is a handmade book that combines traditional cyanotypes with laser-cut elements to recreate the intricate and dynamic way light reflects off of water. Using the cyanotype photographic printing process, I've created blue prints on coated paper that capture the essence of water's fluidity and luminosity. The laser-cut elements are layered on top of the cyanotypes adds depth and dimensionality to the images, evoking the complex interplay of light and water. The book itself features a Japanese side-stitch binding that adds to the overall aesthetic and complements the delicate, organic quality of the images. I hope to create a unique and immersive experience of looking at water, where light and reflection combine to create a dazzling, ever-changing landscape. By combining traditional and modern techniques, I hope to push the boundaries of what is possible in art and photography, and to create something that is both visually stunning and intellectually stimulating about the natural world and its intricate beauty.
